I'm thinking about buying the 135i in the standard transmission.. but is it even worth it anymore?


Any advice/input you can give me?

With the new autos that they are coming out with it is hard to decide!

This is a question I've been wondering about! A friend of mine has the 335i w/ the auto trans and even in stock for it feels good and the race between it and my mildly modded srt4 is neck and neck! And with a 6-speed auto you can't go wrong i suppose!

Gotta go manual on this one! I test drove a couple 335i coupes. The six speed works great, especially with the paddles, but the manual was waaaaaaay more fun.

is the 135i going to have an smg paddle shifter as the automatic tranny?

The swap could cost you quite a bit of time money but it can be done. You're right about the auto trannies failing. 1995 was the first year they started using Ford auto trannies in the 4 cylinder. My uncle had a 1995- which he bought new in 1995- and the tranny went out at 24,000 miles. Mazda makes a good car but that was a dumb move on their part. I agree with you- throw in a manual tranny on this one. You'll never have to worry about it.

i got auto, i know its not as fun but its a lease. kill what you lease, thats my advice auto or man kill it these things are fun either way
